Communities of Hayes Center and Maywood,
The MHC Lady Wolves Basketball team would like to extend a gracious THANK YOU to everyone that made the road to the 2020 Nebraska Girls State Basketball Tournament a memory to last a lifetime. We were fortunate to have an energetic, gym rockin’ pep rally and send off with everyone from both schools with SO many community members in attendance, planned by Ms. Armstrong and Mrs. Bauer. We would like to thank the administration and athletic directors from both schools, the office staff, both Booster Clubs for providing meals and snacks for games and bus rides. Thank you to our lucky bus drivers, Annette Wood and Lisa Johnson, for happily driving us to and from games. We would like to thank Nancy Stoeger for the tasty “Power Pills” (cake pops), scrunchies, foam fan gear and megaphones for our crowd. Thank you to Brenda Pieper and Tammy for hand-making our team scrunchies! Thanks to Barb and Randy Fritsche who donated money that we used for pregame sandwiches during Sub-District play. Howl out to Mr. Brown and Mr. McCain for being the “Voice of the Wolves” and airing our games online and a loud shout out to the Maywood Volunteer Fire Department for the escort around Maywood.
To the MHC parents and fans that followed us to our games, online, and on the radio, you are one of a kind! We are so grateful to be a part of something so special here in southwestern rural Nebraska! You have all created something for the communities of Hayes Center and Maywood to be proud of for years to come.
Grateful to be MHC,
2019-2020 MHC Lady Wolves,
Kimberly Stengel, Jim Cole, and Sarah Rosno
