  • Driver's Ed

    Driver’s Education

This year driver’s education will be July 17th-28th . The first week will be in the classroom. Students must have 20 hours of classroom education. During this week class will start at 8am and will conclude at noon. The last week is all driving as students must drive 5 hours. Their driving is broken up throughout the week, which they sign up for the week prior. During their 5 hours of driving the students experience driving in Hayes Center, McCook, and North Platte as well as interstate, highway, gravel, and county roads. In order to take drivers education, students must be 15 years of age and have a driving permit issued by the DMV. If your child qualifies this year to take drivers education, please contact the high school office to sign them up. It is offered to Hayes Center students at no cost. It also has benefits such as lower insurance and peace of mind for the parents.
